Cajun Smoked Sausage Alfredo Pasta

  • Author: Andrew Recipes

Description

This Cajun Smoked Sausage Alfredo Pasta is a rich and creamy dish with a bold kick of Cajun spice. Smoky sausage slices are seared and simmered in a smooth Parmesan Alfredo sauce, then tossed with tender pasta for a comforting and flavorful meal that’s perfect for weeknight dinners or cozy weekends. The Cajun seasoning adds a deep warmth that complements the savory sausage and creamy sauce beautifully.

Ingredients

Scale

For the sausage:
14 oz smoked sausage, sliced into ¼-inch rounds
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp Cajun seasoning

For the Alfredo sauce:
2 tbsp butter
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 ½ cups heavy cream
1 ½ cups grated Parmesan cheese
1 tsp Cajun seasoning
Salt and black pepper to taste

For the pasta:
12 oz penne or fettuccine pasta
Water for boiling
Salt for pasta water

For garnish:
1 tbsp chopped parsley (optional)

Instructions

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta until al dente according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced smoked sausage and Cajun seasoning. Sear the sausage for 4–5 minutes, until browned and slightly crispy on the edges. Remove from skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1–2 minutes until fragrant.

Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Slowly whisk in the Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy. Add the remaining Cajun seasoning and season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Return the cooked sausage to the skillet and stir to coat in the sauce.

Add the cooked pasta and toss everything together until the noodles are fully coated and heated through.

Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve hot.

Notes

You can adjust the heat level by adding more or less Cajun seasoning depending on your preference. For added depth, consider using andouille sausage for a spicier, more robust flavor. This dish pairs well with a crisp green salad or garlic bread to balance out the richness. If the sauce thickens too much while sitting, a splash of reserved pasta water or milk can bring it back to a creamy consistency.
