Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (6 oz each)
- 8 slices Swiss cheese
- 8 slices chicken ham
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- Cooking spray
Instructions
1️⃣ Preheat the Oven:
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly spray a baking dish with cooking oil.
2️⃣ Prepare the Chicken:
Butterfly each chicken breast by slicing it horizontally without cutting all the way through. Open it like a book and season both sides with salt and pepper.
3️⃣ Stuff the Chicken:
Place 2 slices of Swiss cheese and 2 slices of chicken ham inside each chicken breast. Fold it closed, pressing firmly to seal.
4️⃣ Prepare the Breading Stations:
- In one bowl, mix breadcrumbs, paprika, and garlic powder.
- In another bowl, whisk eggs and flour together until smooth.
5️⃣ Coat the Chicken:
Dip each stuffed chicken breast in the egg mixture, then coat with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing to adhere.
6️⃣ Bake to Perfection:
Place the breaded chicken in the prepared baking dish and spray lightly with cooking spray. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
7️⃣ Serve & Enjoy:
Let the Chicken Cordon Bleu rest for a few minutes before slicing. Serve with steamed vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a creamy Dijon sauce!
Notes
✅ Want a crispier crust? Air-fry at 375°F for 20 minutes, flipping halfway.
✅ Make it extra creamy! Serve with a simple Dijon cream sauce (mix ½ cup heavy cream, 1 tbsp Dijon mustard, and ¼ tsp garlic powder over low heat).
