Description
Garlic Bread Grilled Cheese combines the best of two comfort food classics: crispy, buttery garlic bread and gooey melted cheese. This sandwich is golden and flavorful on the outside with a rich, cheesy center—perfect for pairing with soup or enjoying on its own.
Ingredients
4 slices of thick bread (Italian or sourdough work well)
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped (optional)
½ teaspoon garlic powder
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Salt to taste
Instructions
1 In a small bowl, mix the softened butter with minced garlic, parsley, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
2 Spread the garlic butter mixture generously on one side of each bread slice.
3 Flip the bread slices over and layer the mozzarella and cheddar evenly on two of the slices, on the unbuttered side.
4 Top with the remaining slices, buttered side facing out.
5 Heat a skillet over medium heat. Place the sandwiches in the skillet and cook for 3 to 4 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula, until the bread is golden brown and crispy and the cheese is fully melted.
6 Remove from heat and let sit for a minute before slicing in half. Serve hot.
Notes
You can use any melty cheese like provolone or Monterey Jack in place of mozzarella or cheddar. For extra flavor, sprinkle a little Parmesan on the buttered sides before grilling. This sandwich is especially delicious when dipped in tomato soup or marinara sauce.
