Ingredients
- 6–8 pieces chicken (thighs, drumsticks, or breasts), cleaned
- 1 cup flour
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 2 tsp paprika
- 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1 1/2 cups water
Instructions
1️⃣ Season and Coat the Chicken:
In a shallow bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Dredge each piece of chicken in the seasoned flour mixture, shaking off the excess.
2️⃣ Prepare the Baking Dish:
Lightly grease a baking dish with butter or oil. Sprinkle a small amount of the seasoned flour over the surface of the dish, then arrange the chicken pieces in the dish, skin side up.
3️⃣ Mix the Cream and Water:
In a separate bowl, stir together the heavy whipping cream and water. Pour this mixture evenly over the chicken, ensuring all pieces are covered.
4️⃣ Bake the Chicken:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the chicken for 1 1/2 hours, until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through, with the gravy thickened and bubbling.
5️⃣ Serve:
Allow the dish to cool for a few minutes. Serve the chicken with the creamy gravy, along with your favorite sides.
Notes
- Side Suggestions: Serve with mashed potatoes, green beans, or buttered noodles to complement the creamy gravy.
- Add Herbs: For additional flavor, sprinkle fresh thyme or rosemary over the chicken before baking.
