  • Total Time: 2 hours

Description

A flavorful and effortless recipe where tender meatballs are coated in a sweet and tangy Asian-inspired sauce, perfect as an appetizer or main dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (20 oz) Bag frozen meatballs (or homemade)
  • ½ cup Hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Honey
  • ½ tbsp Rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp Brown sugar
  • Optional garnish: Green onions (diced) and sesame seed

Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the Meatballs:

Place the frozen or homemade meatballs in the crockpot, ensuring they are evenly spread out.

2️⃣ Make the Sauce:

In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, garlic powder, and brown sugar until well combined.

3️⃣ Combine:

Pour the sauce mixture over the meatballs in the crockpot. Toss gently to ensure all the meatballs are evenly coated with the sauce.

4️⃣ Cook:

Cover the crockpot with the lid. Cook on high for 1-2 hours or on low for 2-4 hours, stirring occasionally to evenly distribute the sauce and flavors.

5️⃣ Garnish and Serve:

Once cooked, sprinkle the meatballs with diced green onions and sesame seeds.

Serve hot as an appetizer, or pair with steamed rice or noodles for a main course.

Notes

  • Homemade meatballs: If using homemade meatballs, ensure they are pre-cooked before adding them to the crockpot.
  • For extra flavor: Add a splash of sriracha or chili flakes to the sauce for a spicy kick.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave or stovetop until warmed through.
