  • Author: Christophe
  • Total Time: 1 hour 15 minutes

Description

This comforting one-dish meal combines savory ground beef, creamy mushroom soup, and cheesy goodness with tender rice for a hearty dinner. Perfect for busy weeknights or family gatherings!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup uncooked rice
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat the Oven:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish to prevent sticking and ensure easy serving.

2️⃣ Cook the Beef and Aromatics:

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef along with the diced onion and minced garlic.

Stir occasionally and cook until the beef is browned and the onions are translucent.

Drain any excess grease to avoid a greasy casserole.

3️⃣ Prepare the Base:

To the skillet, add the uncooked rice, beef broth, and cream of mushroom soup.

Mix thoroughly and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.

4️⃣ Assemble the Casserole:

Pour the beef and rice mixture into the greased baking dish. Spread it out evenly.

5️⃣ Bake Covered:

Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil. This traps steam to cook the rice evenly.

Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 50 minutes.

6️⃣ Add the Cheese:

After 50 minutes, remove the foil and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top.

Return the dish to the oven, uncovered, and bake for an additional 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

7️⃣ Rest and Serve:

Remove the casserole from the oven and let it sit for 5–10 minutes to set before serving.
