  • Author: Andrew Recipes
  • Total Time: 30-35 minutes
  • Yield: 12 fritters 1x

Description

These warm, fluffy fritters are packed with soft, spiced apple chunks, deep-fried to golden perfection, and then drizzled with a sweet, creamy vanilla glaze. Perfect for a cozy fall treat or any time you want something indulgent and comforting!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Fritters:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced (about 1 ½ cups)
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 23 cups vegetable oil (for frying)

For the Vanilla Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 23 tbsp milk (adjust for desired consistency)

Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the oil: In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat to about 350°F (175°C). You’ll need enough oil to submerge the fritters (about 2-3 inches deep).

2️⃣ Mix dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.

3️⃣ Add wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.

4️⃣ Combine the batter: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix. Gently fold in the diced apples.

5️⃣ Fry the fritters: Using a spoon or cookie scoop, drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil. Fry the fritters in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

6️⃣ Make the glaze: While the fritters are cooling, whisk together the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk in a small bowl until smooth. Add more milk if needed to reach a drizzle-like consistency.

7️⃣ Glaze the fritters: Once the fritters have cooled slightly, drizzle the vanilla glaze over the top of each fritter.

8️⃣ Serve and enjoy: Serve the fritters warm and enjoy!
