Description
Crescent Roll Cinnamon Twists are a quick and irresistible treat made with just a few ingredients. Buttery crescent dough is layered with cinnamon sugar, twisted into fun shapes, and baked until golden and flaky. These twists are perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a last-minute dessert when you’re short on time but still want something warm and sweet from the oven.
Ingredients
1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough
2 tablespoons melted butter
¼ cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
½ cup powdered sugar
1 to 2 tablespoons milk
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into rectangles by sealing the perforated seams. Brush each rectangle with melted butter. In a small bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon together, then sprinkle evenly over half of the rectangles. Top each with another rectangle to form a sandwich and press lightly to seal.
Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, slice each dough sandwich into strips. Twist each strip gently and place on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp on the edges. While the twists are baking, prepare the glaze by whisking together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Drizzle the glaze over the warm twists before serving.
Notes
These are best served warm right out of the oven, but can be reheated for a few seconds in the microwave if needed. You can add a pinch of nutmeg or use brown sugar for a richer flavor. For extra indulgence, try dipping them in cream cheese frosting or adding chopped nuts to the filling.
