Easy Alabama Firecracker Recipe

  • Author: Andrew Recipes

Description

Alabama Firecrackers are a bold and spicy snack made with crispy saltine crackers coated in a zesty, seasoned oil mixture. These crackers pack a punch with every bite and are perfect for parties, game nights, or simply as a flavorful snack. With no baking required, this recipe is incredibly easy to prepare, making it a go-to favorite for spice lovers.

Ingredients

Scale

1 sleeve saltine crackers (about 40 crackers)

1/2 cup vegetable oil

1 packet (1 oz) ranch dressing mix (dry)

1 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes (adjust to your heat preference)

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

1/2 teaspoon onion powder (optional)

Instructions

In a small bowl, whisk together the vegetable oil, ranch dressing mix, crushed red pepper flakes, garlic powder, and onion powder until well combined.

Place the saltine crackers in a large resealable plastic bag or a flat, airtight container. Pour the seasoning mixture over the crackers, ensuring they are evenly coated. Seal the bag or container, then gently turn it over several times to distribute the seasoning.

Allow the crackers to sit at room temperature for 8–12 hours (or overnight) to absorb the flavors fully. Occasionally turn the bag or shake the container to ensure even coating.

Notes

Once the crackers have soaked up all the seasoning, they’re ready to serve. Enjoy them on their own or pair them with dips like ranch dressing, cheese spreads, or guacamole for an extra burst of flavor.
