Description

This Heaven on Earth Cake is a light, creamy, and dreamy dessert layered with fluffy angel food cake, sweet cherry pie filling, and a luscious cream cheese pudding mixture. It’s easy to make, requires no baking, and is perfect for any occasion!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package angel food cake (or 1 prepared angel food cake), cut into cubes
  • 1 package (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 ½ cups milk
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping (Cool Whip)
  • ¼ cup sliced almonds or white chocolate shavings (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the Cake: Cut the angel food cake into bite-sized cubes and set aside.

2️⃣ Make the Pudding Mixture: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the vanilla pudding mix, milk, and sour cream until smooth. Let it set for a few minutes.

3️⃣ Make the Cream Cheese Layer: In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until light and fluffy. Gently fold in half of the whipped topping until well combined.

4️⃣ Assemble the Cake: In a 9×13-inch dish, layer half of the angel food cake cubes. Spread half of the cream cheese mixture over the cake. Then, spread half of the cherry pie filling on top.

5️⃣ Repeat the Layers: Add the remaining angel food cake cubes, followed by the rest of the cream cheese mixture, then the remaining cherry pie filling.

6️⃣ Top it Off: Spread the remaining whipped topping evenly over the top. Sprinkle with sliced almonds or white chocolate shavings, if desired.

7️⃣ Chill & Serve: Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours (or overnight for best results). Serve chilled and enjoy!

Notes

  • Switch it up! Try different pie fillings like blueberry, strawberry, or raspberry for a twist.
  • Want extra texture? Add a layer of crushed graham crackers or vanilla wafers between layers.
  • Make it lighter: Use low-fat cream cheese, light whipped topping, and sugar-free pudding to cut down on calories.
