Description
Key Lime Pie Lush is a no-bake, creamy dessert that combines the tangy flavor of key lime with the richness of a traditional pie, but in a lighter, layered form. The buttery graham cracker crust, velvety lime filling, and cool whipped topping make it a refreshing treat perfect for any occasion. This dessert is an easy and delicious alternative to the classic key lime pie, especially during warmer months.
Ingredients
For the crust:
1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup melted butter
For the filling:
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 (8 oz) container whipped topping, thawed
1/4 cup fresh lime juice
1 tbsp lime zest
For the topping:
1 cup whipped topping, for garnish
Lime slices or zest, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Prepare the crust: In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter. Mix until the crumbs are evenly coated. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9×9-inch baking dish to form a crust.
Make the filling: In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth. Stir in the whipped topping, lime juice, and lime zest until fully combined and fluffy.
Assemble the layers: Spread the lime filling evenly over the prepared graham cracker crust. Smooth the top with a spatula to make an even layer.
Chill: Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight, to allow the flavors to meld and the dessert to set.
Serve: Once chilled, top with the remaining whipped topping and garnish with lime slices or zest. Serve chilled and enjoy!
Notes
For a more intense lime flavor, feel free to add a little extra lime juice or zest. You can also use store-bought lime curd for a shortcut in the filling if you’re short on time. This dessert can also be made in individual serving dishes for a fun, personal touch!
